Heather Maddox joined Berluti & McLaughlin as an Associate in 2004 to practice with its civil litigation team, focusing on business, construction, and employment litigation. Prior to joining Berluti & McLaughlin, she served as a law clerk to the Massachusetts Superior Court, assisting the Justices in all phases of both civil and criminal litigation. Additionally, Ms. Maddox has served as a judicial intern for the US Army JAG Corps in Arlington, VA where she had the opportunity to observe courts-martial and work with Justices in the military court system. In 2005, Heather participated in the National Institute for Trial Advocacy's New England Regional week-long intensive trial skills program, where she gained and honed valuable trial advocacy skills.
Attorney Maddox is a member of the Massachusetts Bar, and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Additionally, she is a member of the Construction Industry Forum of the American Bar Association and the Litigation Section of the Boston Bar Association.
In 2002, her comment on the use of military commissions was published in the North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation.
Ms. Maddox received a Juris Doctor with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law in 2003, where she was the Managing Editor of the North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Hampshire College in 1998 where she majored in Film Production and Animation.
Ms. Maddox is a resident of Brookline, Mass.
